Hi. I have a sixth generation 120GB Ipod. I've been storing a good ammount of my music on apple lossless (converted from either wav or flac).
I was looking to buy some headphones in which the file quality could be appreciated.

I've been using earbuds up until now, and I find them to be extremely comfortable. But I'd also be open to try out some circumaural too, they've always seemed stylish. However I heard that the noise reduction on earbuds is a lot better? That's very important for me. I live in very big and busy city and have to travel on the subway constantly (aka traveling musicians and annoying brats), not to mention that I like to use my ipod to isolate myself while being outside.

I was looking to spend around 100 US on it, might consider stretching a bit more if its very much worth it... but can't afford to go a lot higher.

Any suggestions on what type and model I should be looking for?

You mean in-ears have better isolation. Earbuds, ala stock ibuds have very little isolation, as you probably know. ER6i's with shure olive tips isolate a LOT.
