Okay, I'm thinking about sending my Meier PCII off to Parts Connexion to have all 12 electrolytic capacitors replaced with BlackGate-60095, and the potentiometer swapped out for a TKD-64187. Total parts, labor, and shipping should come out to ~$275.

I have a couple questions:
#1 Are there any other parts upgrades you'd suggest?
#2 Is 100K the proper choice for the TKD, and will it switch the unit on/off like the standard Meier/Alps potentiometer does?

My goal here is NOT to modify Jan's original design, but simply to make direct part-for-part substitutions wherever possible using the VERY BEST components available. Cost is no object.

I don't think you'd have enough space to fit the caps and pot.
The smallest TKD pot I've seen is the 16mm² pot. It's still very much bigger than the default 9mm² ALPS.

I don't think that the TKD pot will have an integrated on/off switch. IIRC Jan Meier uses a custom Alps pot in the PCII. Stereo pots with an integrated switch are very hard to find; I pulled the one I use in my CMoy from an old car stereo.
