Hi I just got into this Hi-Fi thing, I am a big newbie and has many questions, I read this forum a lot for past weeks, but don't understand much. I am not sure I should post this here consider I have question about everything but consider I never owned a Amp before, I guess I just ask here.

I have a ETY 4p for my MP3 player(Muvo 4GB) and I am getting the P to S adpter, also getting a CD 3000 or HD 650 or HD 595 for home use, Where I can get a good price for them? What are other headphones you would recommend? I listen to pop(most of them are J-pop), classical, anime sound track, and little rock.

What are difference bewteen solid state amp and tube amp? Pros and Cons?

I am willing to spend 1200-1700(or maybe a little more if other things in my life goes well and less if something goes wrong) for CD player, DAC, and amp, so how much should goes to what?

Someone post here said Toshiba 3960/4900 are good, very cheap, and plays DVD audio too. Shoud I get them and below rest of my money on DAC and Amp? Or should I get a better CD player? DAC, I know what is a DAC but no idea on what should I get, so some advise please.

For Amps, there seems to be tons out there and although I read lots of review on this forum, but I don't really understand. Although two of them looks good, one of them is single power MPX3, the silver model looks sooo cool and price seems will fit. Another is Headroom MOHR/Max, herad good things about them at here, and Headroom allows you to return within 30 days is a big plus for a newbie like me. Also heard good things about Gilmore, PPA... which would you recommend?

I do listen music from my computer a lot, I have a creative sound card which sucks for music but I want to keep it for gaming, so I am thinking about getting a Total Bithead, or a Pro HiFi-Link
