I'm a newbie looking to amplify my laptop (mostly for movies). I travel a bit and like to distract myself on scary flights by watching action/adventure. My laptop has fair sound but volume is minimal and I can't seem to get any bass (I really like bass in an action movie).

Both of these amps seem to get good reviews. I'd appreciate any advice you audio veterans can offer.

Get the total bithead. It has a built in USB dac perfect for a laptop and is smaller than the Xenos.

The only reason for the Xenos is for a distinct bass and treble control.

I don't know your headphones, but with all my headphones the bass with movies and music is great, full bodied has good weight (for a portable) goes low and effortless. This is a nice product. and also there is no one better at customer service and advice than Headroom. (OK, Mikhail at singlepower is super too)
