Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 board, Win 8x64, UEFI bios. I've tried to run a good toslink cable from the mobo's optical out port to three good Dacs and not one has been recognized by Windows and Realtek. USB audio works fine. Toslink cable end shows lighted red, like signal present. The same Dacs work with Toslink from my TV. What am I missing - drivers, bios setting,...? Thanks,

Full sized toslink, tried two cables that also work with tv. There's nothing to set because the connection is not recognized by the OS. To make that clearer, with USB the specific dac will show in Sound, but with Toslink there is nothing except the standard Readtek HDMI Output and Speakers, both correctly showing "not plugged in." In Realtek's dialogue box, the Toslink connected dac doesn't show (nothing shows).
