Why did the Bada PH-12 and other audio amplifiers choose the k1529 as the mosfet? Would there be a difference if you replaced the mosfet with one of similar specs? Sound wise?

A part gets chosen for any number of reasons, including how it sounds.

In a given circuit, different compatible parts will sometimes sound different, and some of them may sound "better".

I sure like the toshiba transistors in my dDB. Entirely different part - BJTs.

Will it make a difference? Probably a small difference, yeah.

Why? Need to replace one?

Yes. It's just very expensive and some $1 piece has a higher rating and all of that. If I wanted to further protect the K1529, instead of using 15V diodes would it really matter if i used higher rated diodes?
