This HD-DVD player supposedly uses 12x Wolfson 8740 DAC for its analog output. Does anyone know if this player is considered to be a good CD source, and what traditional CD player would it be comparable to?

I've had one in my main home theater system for a few years now. Great video player but I've only used it via HDMI. CDs sounded fine via HDMI. Never had the occasion to use the analog outs. I will say this, however: it's a sturdy, well-made player and has given me great service playing back HDCDs.
