Just got a Topping G5 headphone amp/DAC that has Bluetooth 5.1.

I guess I misunderstood the description. I believed the amp would connect wirelessly through BT to BT headphones. Will the G5 not connect to BT headphones or are the instructions just not detailed enough?

Short answer - the G5 is only a Bluetooth receiver, as is any BT headphones.

Same, but the main purpose is providing convenience. Being able to keep listening when I need to move around.

Very true, but if I’m moving , my focus is not 100% on audio quality, which is where the Hiby R3 II comes into play.

For wireless I'd put the money into your phone for bettery life and Bluetooth protocols that match your headphones.
