Perhaps it won't be too long before Bay City Rollers and Village People appreciation threads start springing up all over the forum.

i would love to write down my picks...but it's imposible for me to say my best 5 ever. maybe if it was the best 5 in every genre..and then also it would be very difficult.

Its way way way too hard to narrow it down to just 5. But as for extremely good albums, here are five right off the top of my head:

Beatles - Abbey Road
Boston - Boston
Cranberries - Everyone Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?
The Postal Service - Give up
Flogging Molly - Float

Like I said I could name about 50 more albums that are equally good as those above. That was just what I thought of first. Oh btw Miley Cyrus would undoubtedly be on my list too...

A top 100 would have been more indicative. In no particular order, off the top of my head, i'd pick;

Joni Mitchell- Hejira
Led Zeppelin- Physical Graffiti
Pavement- Wowee Zowee
Pixies- Dolittle
Bob Dylan- Blood on the Tracks

Not sure of the benefit of these threads, (particularly if people just take the piss) always highly subjective and as taste and familiarity dictate, ones favourites' change. I am posting seven of my most played currently, in no particular order:

Tegan and Sara-If it was you
Dire Straits - Making Movies
Dire Starits - On the Night (Live)
Suzanne Vega -Retrospective (Best of really)
Matchbox Twenty-Exile on Mainstream (also a bit of a best of)
Ben Folds -Rockin' The Suburbs
Cold Play-Viva Lavida (Modern classic)

My top 5 aren't based on audiophile recording quality. Mine are albums that I can sit and listen to pretty much every song on it without having to skip tracks. On many albums that have a great song or great quality, I only like 1-2 songs. So my list will probably be very different.

Bullet for My Valentine - The Poison
Dave Matthews Band - Crash
Porcupine Tree - Signify
Rage Against the Machine - self titled
Dream Theater - Train of Thought

Honorable Mention
Tool - Enima
The Who - Who's Next
Our Lady Peace - Clumsy
Hinder - Extreme Behavior
Hawthorne Heights - The Silence in Black and White
