1) Other music genres. I went from trance to anything-that-isn't-trance. I'm not sure why, but I can't stand to listen to trance anymore. It's bland, uninspired, and simple. Offcourse, there are exceptions!

2) The awesome second hand market. This hobby would not be possible for me without that. The fact that I can have high end gear and lose allmost no money on it if I come to sell it is great.

3) Great gear does not have to be expensive. There are some items that cost virtually nothing compared to the high priced gear and are very close in sound.

1) Darth Nut's essay (review of the STAX Omega 2) is the single greatest post I have ever read on any message board. It has taught me more than all the posts I've read on Headfi about soundstage/headstage and headphone language. I still go back to it all the time and learn more from it as I listen more intently. Also because of this essay I listen to the 6 disc Star Wars set way to much

2) Some people have no idea what they're talking about and base all their information off limited experience.

3) I found the K1000.
