Check it out!

As for me, I have tried every app. on that list, and my favorites by far are JRiver Jukebox, Exact Audio Copy, and Audacity. Foobar is pretty decent for advanced users, but IMO Jriver Media Jukebox just buries Foobar.

The only type of app. that is missing from the list is some sort of an Album Art Grabber. Anyone have any great suggestions for an app. like that to add to the list?

Thank you very much nice selection.I'm glad I am a PC type.

I use Tag & Rename a lot and it will grab album art from Amazon. It's how I keep my collection cleanly tagged and add missing artwork.

EAC for ripping CDs.

Foobar for playing.

Rockbox on the iPod and Windows Explorer to manage the files.

Only Tag&Rename costs anything (no discussion of illegal downloads).

I used to use the Godfather for my tagging and artwork stuff, but when freedb got bought and changed, it broke. If it ever gets updated, I may switch back, although there are aspects of Tag&Rename I prefer now.

Are you for real?!
iTunes use QuickTime for playback, and its totally independent of Foobar2000. It even run on Mac OS X, where Foobar2000 don't run...

If you click the link that HappyCamper provided, you will see that iTunes 7.0 can indeed be set up to use Foobar for music playback.

So to clarify, no foobar is not natively supported and used by iTunes, but it is possible to set up iTunes 7.0 to use foobar for music playback, assuming you have the proper "know-how".

Oh yea of little faith. I've been listening to this setup now for nigh on a year in windows os.

Nice thing is, using this version eliminates the kmixer and eq effects and gives a pretty clean signal. Reading through the setup also allows ASIO support and other things I have little knowledge of. I know I have ASIO set up in foobar and it sounds much better than itunes. Itunes is still a pretty good organizer. The only drawback is not being able to upgrade the itunes for video or other updates. As just for a jukebox though, this is a pretty good setup.

Edit:
Krmathis, you are correct. Please see my edit in the origional post. I didn't mean that Itunes was designed with Foobar as the default player but my statement could be interpreted that way. Sorry for any confusion.

krmathis was right. Your earlier post was just wrong. With a plugin, iTunes can play through Foobar.
