I've read lots of comments that Ety's need to be inserted well into the ear but I'm finding the opposite. I find that this causes a lot of pressure/suction and has a negative effect on the sound as well as comfort. When they're inserted deep into the ear there's less bass and a very narrow sound stage.

When I insert them just enough to make a seal the sound stage is wider, theres more bass and they just sound better but the isolation isn't as good.

Anybody else found this?

What might be happening is that when you insert them that deep into your ear, the air actually disperses and goes out of the ear canal.  Since there is less air in your air canal, there is less medium for sound to travel through.  Less medium will result in a loss of actual sound (not only the lows, but the mids and highs as well).  I have seen this on occasion where too deep of insertion will cause this.  Insert them just deep enough where it's comfortable and causes no pain.
