Blood Money all the way

alice, ever so slightly above blood money. both are damned good, alice is arguably his best work. easy pick as the top album of this young 2002.

If I were forced to choose one over the other it would be Alice that I would select.

Alice is gorgeous. I have listened to it for days. Mesmerizing. To me, Blood Money seems a little weaker, less versatile and creative than the outstanding Mule Variations. Of course, Blood Money has to tell a single and rather straightforward story, that of Büchner's Woyzeck.

I had seen Wilson's and Waits' The Black Rider in Hamburg, but I missed Alice. Damn.

Actually, I'm a big Woyzeck fan. But I still prefer Alban Berg's opera version (Wozzek). If you can stand 12-tone music, go, see it, it is worth it.

my vote goes to alice. so moody and lullaby-ish, i close my eyes and think of the characters from american mcgee's alice. in my opinion, a perfect match.
