I have a Series2 Tivo that is just about three years old now. It seems to be starting to die. When watching live TV, the image will freeze for a few seconds and then resume, sometimes it will get heavily pixated but sound and motion continue (this isn't a digital cable issue--I have analog cable). Recordings are even worse and can be unwatchable.

I'd like to nurse this unit a long for a little longer before replacing it as it seems that a new Tivo is going to be released soon. As such, does anyone know if replacing the HD will solve these issues? If so, is this something that's difficult to do? I am quite computer savvy so I'm not too worried about a technical process.

Your help is appreciated. I miss my daily PTI!

Richard
