Hey
So shortened an 8' cord on the JVC HA-RX300 to about 3.5'. Also put a basic 3.5mm plug on the end- but after all was done, i'm missing a lot of the treble parts from my music..and i don't know where i could have gone wrong.

Are you sure the L+ and R+ connections were applied correctly?  I'm wondering if you wired the (+) connections to the (-) and vice-versa?  If so, things could be out of phase and you could be experiencing basically what you've described.

Looks like you need to do it again. :p

Left channel/right channel/common ground. Make sure to get them all right at the plug.
