Hey

I bought the audio technica ad700s back in 2009. I then bought the denon d2000s about 6 months later.

My D2ks broke, so I went back to using the ad700s, and in all honesty I enjoyed listening to the ad700s far more. The Denon's always sounded a bit congested to me.

I mostly listen to pop music, however I also enjoy classical and jazz. Would prefer open to closed back.

These would just be running off of my laptop, so any amp/dac must be included in the budget, although I could stretch a little over.

Please spec me some new cans/a new setup.

Thanks

Hmmm, Beyerdynamic dt 990 pro as well as Fiio E17?   That'll run you about £230 in total so well within your budget and it'll net you an expansive sound.

I mention Beyer DT 990 Pro specifically because it's by far the best headphone I've heard anywhere near it's price range and it seems that it punches well above it's weight in that regard.
