Oh really? I always think the recording of the her songs are average tho. Not her. The sound engineers fault tho. They are the LCD pads.

You must try 曖昧 on yout TP. Very good voice and music, sounds sublime with the LCD2 and 3. One of the must test tracks for any new stuff I acquire.

You can always use Hotel California (Live version) as a test - first drum note after the guitar solo comes from the left.

For me, I think the thicker side of the LCD pads are at the front. If I wear it the opposite way, the headphone would sound quite weird.

I think I wouldnt use the TP as portable even though they are closed hp. The isolation is good, but I wouldnt say it is to the same level as a decent IEMs. The headphone is actually quite big and heavy on the head. I think the soundstage is not as big as I expected but it is quite good for a closed hp. I havent never tried the Ed series so I cannot comment on that.

I'm hoping with the 02 pads they're at least decent... my use is in a fairly noisy office.  I used the W1000x for a couple months which hardly isolate at all and probably ended up turning the music to dangerous levels to drown out my environment.  The Ed8s are almost as good as most of the IEMs I've used, probably due to having a pretty high clamping force and a good seal from firm padding w/ supple leather.  I can see how head shape may effect their ability to seal though.  Generally I can listen at moderate levels and not hear anything going on around me, even the phone :)

Any news?  I'm assuming the pairs (the pair?) that have gone out are meeting expectations since it's been quiet for several days.  I tried to contact Gary several days ago, but haven't heard back.

With my gf's permission I am able to put this up now. She was having a listen with my TP and I just grabbed my phone and took few snaps. They look huge on her head...

Sorry to bring up an image from awhile back, but I've just placed an order for Sapele thunderpants (though Smeggy hasn't responded to any emails of mine in awhile) and I've been wondering just how you remove the stock pads and put on LCD2 pads. Do I need to ask Smeggy to make my thunderpants in a particular size or configuration, or do all thunderpants from Smeggy fit LCD2 pads?

I am not sure how you would replace the pads. I remember I've seen it somewhere but cannot remember where. I ordered mine with the LCD2 pads so I never had the original pads.

I think I can take it off but are not brave enough to do it right now. I want to change it to my beyer velour and listen to the difference.

There may be differences (at a minimum) in baffles and porting for some variations in pads. I don't know how many configurations there are (maybe there is only one now? Not sure) but I did discuss this with Smeggy when he was working out some of the new pad configurations.

Removing a pad is trivial so if you want to try another one, it is an easy experiment.
