Yea just as the title says I was almost robbed today by someone who I thought was a headfier. Here's the story.
My dad owns a security company (not rent a cop) and a bonding agency. Since I'm "daddy's little princess" I rarely get to go on the fun jobs (my dad tries his best to keep me in the office). But this week I've been on a job which has been uneventful until today. I decided to take a break from the boredom and get some coffee. At the 7 eleven this guy notices my e500s and ask me how they sound. So we get into a convo about iems. The guy really knows his stuff. He ask me if he can walk back with me.
The guy looks clean cut and seems harmless enough so I say yes. At this point I just think he wants my number. We have to cut through an industrial park which is empty on Sundays. That's when everything changes. He starts joking that I should give him my e500s, then gets serious about it. Then he grabs me and pulls out a knife and tells me to give them to him.
Okay I know I should have just given them to him... but I can handle myself. So in a matter of seconds the guy finds himself with no knife and his face hitting cement. I cuffed him (carry them for the job... and other reasons
) and waited till the police arrived.
The police chewed me out for not just giving my e500s to the guy... "not worth my life" blah blah blah.... My dad chewed me out for the same reason as the cops, then my mother chewed me out for not using pepper spray on the guy after I had him cuffed (gotta love mom)!
Anyway That's my eventful day. So the moral of the story is to be careful. Thieves also know how expensive our gear is too. And for most of you I recommend just giving over your gear. It's really not worth your life.
