Soon me and my father will be putting a RB250 arm onto a Thorens 160B

Does the Thorens really have sound similarity to an LP12?
The reason why I'm switching to the Thorens is because it sounds much better over my Michell syncro. I find the Thorens to have better soundstage and detail over the syncro, the thorens really does put my syncro to shame.
