Recently when I started to hear Badly Drawn Boy's album, The Hour of Bewilderbeast, I noticed that there was some obvious distortion (some obvious but NOT loud zeee sound) at the beginning of the first track. It just kinda bugs me off. May be I should get a MX500 to replace my E888?

Not having that CD, I don't know... can you hear that distortion through speakers, and / or other headphones?

HI: instead of getting the mx500 why not get the koss ksc-35 or the koss portapros. I think that they give a much bigger and fuller sound and are good enough to use untill you are ready to make a big upgrade but till then the koss portapros will be a great can for years to come. If you get the portapros cut a small round hole in the pad to tame the bass and let the mid and highs out.
