I currently have Westone 4R and Sennheiser 650's. I am using them with ALO RX Mk3 amp and CLAS.

I really do not like the 650's and want a full size cans that are comfortable, great sound, and no ear splitting treble, and good quality base. (Gee isn't this what everyone wants?) :)

Can anyone comment on the the 702's? Also what is the difference with the 701's?

Any other options that you can think of? Are the V Moda Crossfade 100 any good?

Btw, I mostly listen to rock.

Thanks in advance,
Ken

The 701 and 702 sound the same to my ears, but the Q701 has a tiny bit more low end and is a little easier on the ears.  All three of these headphones are known to have some bite in the treble and I would advice you to shy away from them for this reason.

A great headphones I think you will like from AKG is the AKG K550.  They are slightly darker sounding than the K701 and Q701, but are much more relaxed in the treble.  I really enjoy the AKG K550 and to me they are an excellent substitute for the awesome Denon AH-D2000.

Why are you not liking the HD650s? They are comfy, have great sound and bass imo. Maybe you don't like the dark (veiled) sound? I own both the K701 and HD650, but the senns are currently my favourite cans.

The HD-650 is a headphone that sounds its best louder which is one reason I got rid of mine.  To my ears the veil was heard at my nominal listening level and to get the fidelity out of the HD-650 that I wanted I felt the sound pressure was harming my ears.
