I've currently got UE-5c's running unamped from my iPod Mini (I know, I know; I'm getting a Tomahawk soon), but I'm looking for a little bit of a less-portable, higher quality setup for the house consisting of headphones an amp opposed to earphpones. What should I expect to differ in sound quality from IEM's to full-size phones?
I'm looking to spend around $500 for both the headphones and the amp. Anything that'll compliment the 5c's nicely at that price? I listen to acoustic rock, soft rock, jazz, and some (but little) rap. Not a basshead, but love rich sounding quality.
