I'm thinking about building my first CMoy. I just wanted to know if I should do the things I would want in it.

I would want to add these features to the CMoy:
-Dual input (1/8" jack and iPod LOD) with switch to choose which is active
-Volume Control
-Rechargeable and replaceable battery(ies)
-Dual output (1/4" and 1/8") with switch to choose which is active

Do you think these mods are too ambitious for my first build?
Are they even technically possible? I think they are possible with my limited knowledge of electronics.

Thanks for the input.

They are all possible to do electronically, but to fit all of that into the altoids tin is probably impossible. It seems not that much, but think of how deep a 1/4 inch jack must be, and think of that inside an altoids tin. I would suggest building a tangentsoft (or the bass boost version with PCB) of the simple CMOY, then you can add things later when you are comfortable with DIY. You will just need a bigger case.

Also, the rechargeable battery requires a whole charging circuit, so that adds a good amount of junk to stuff into a case. What you need to do is think if you really need a 1/4 inch jack on a portable amplifier. If for some reason yes, good luck.

PS: LODs can terminate in mini jacks, so you do not need that extra input. Just an LOD that terminates in 3.5mm.
