I am thinking about a new cd player. I currently have a Sony 507ESD model. I purchased it new in 88 I think. I was wondering if I would notice a substancial improvement with a change. I am currently looking at several different models. CEC CD3300, Onix XCD-88, Nad C521BEE, Nad C542, Music Hall CD25.2 or Cambridge 640C. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Price is up to about $600. Thanks!

Or buy a NAD 542 used in mint conditioned (or refurbished if you can find it) for $300 or so.
