There oughta be a law: announcing songs on the radio

It's true only a few stations give all that info.
I like it because now I know what the "kids" are listening to these days. How else would I know what the new Usher song is?
however, I am sick of seeing "scott and todd in the mornings" every sec. on the display.

This only works for vocal music but type in all the words you can remember from the song into google. It should come up with the lyrics and the song title. Or call like Shift said, I'm sure they will tell you.

Ah, the country of Europe is so sophisticated.

Really though, I never listen to the radio, but the scrolling name thing sounds pretty cool. The biggest problem is that I don't have very specific musical tastes other than "what I think is good," so it is hard/difficult/impossible to find a station where I like more than one third of the stuff they play.

Eh, you could always get into satellite radio. Always being able to know what artist I'm listening to is one of the main reasons I love sat radio so much (besides the lack of commercials and variety of stations).

When I was growing up I hated it when you were recording a cool song and then you'll have the anouncer saying something stupid at the end, ruining for you. Now, I spend at least a couple of days trying to figure out the name of some band. I ussually try to remember a phrase in the song and then look for it in the internet. I don't listen to radio a lot, but if there's something I like I really want to know what I am listening to.

I could have done the lyric thing for the rock track I liked, but that damn jazz track. I'll never know...

lol. yeah, I'm not sure if the same channel is carried over country borders so I didn't want to impune a whole continent.

That's a problem for me also. Lucky me, most of the times I listen to the local jazz station, it's when they have segments dedicated to different styles/artists, so I can always find the song.

It's too bad that you can't just hit record and have a little piece of music to play to the station people... Hey, why not? It's clumsy, but if yo have a voice recorder or a reporters tape recorder maybe you could just keep it at hand and use it when needed. Of course, only if you have the chance.

That's a good idea. I mean, it's too bad that one must resort to this, as the radio stations really need to change their current methods. Unfortunately, that probably won't happen for a while, so in the meantime I would probably try Onix's suggestion.

Right. The stations I use all have very good internet playlists.
