As soon as I opened my laptop this morning, and as soon as I turned on my Bose Companion 2, Series II speakers they started making a constant buzz sound.  The buzz sound is even in my headphones when I use the Bose headphone jack. I do not get this buzz sound when I hook my headphones up to the laptops headphone jack.
 
I'm wondering if the speakers finally died, how would I know? I have had them for 4 years maybe.

Could be anything in there... power supply, amplification section... anyones guess till you open it up and at the very least look around inside.  It might be a bad chassis ground, or cracked solder joint resulting in a faulty ground.
