Hello, Head-Fi. I was wondering if Windows 8 64-bit gets along better with the Essence STX than Windows 7 64-bit. I know it has buggy drivers, but more importantly, does it have the dreaded "screech" and right-channel static issues?

well i am using these two(essence st infact) and i think there are some problems... there might be something in the right channel sometimes as you say but i haven't noticed it properly to say that it is so... but i do feel that there is some problems with the drivers... every couple of hours there is jittering in the sound for about 3-4 seconds which did not happen in windows 7...

Sounds like the issue with fizzing sounds sometimes seen in the STX in Windows 7. Unfortunate. It would be good to see Windows 8 resolve the issues inherent to the STX in 7.

i had no such problem with the ST under windows 8 using the unixonar drivers. I suppose the STX is different enough to cause issues?
