I worked as a consultant at Hechingers (a Home Depot type store) when they were trying to implement an inventory system in preparation of Home Depot opening their first stores in the DC area. Hechingers pricing system was all screwed up. When Home Depot had their first ad in the paper, the ad showed Hechingers' regular price and sale price, and Home Depot's regular price. For all of the items in the ad, Hechinger's sale prices was more than their regular price.

Markertek says the retail is $1.20 and they're selling it for $1.10.

I'm guessing they put the discount in wrong in the computer or something. You'll notice that the page says "Save: -59%". That negative is the key. Try it in a calculator; 1.34*(-1.59). Should come out to $2.13

Either way, it's pretty funny, but I'm sure it was just input error.

My mom once bought a bunch of backpacks for some of her friend's kids for $40 from Sports Authority. The supposed retail price was $50. Under the labels it clearly stated $35 retail price.
