...For games though I liked the Chrono Trigger sound track and Metal Gear Solid for PS1 pretty well...

Hello everyone,
I just joined head-fi yesterday and thought I'd start here. :)

Without further ado, my favorite track by far is also from the mgs ost:

The Pokémon Reorchestrated Kanto Symphony also brings back memories, downloadable for free at http://pokemonsymphony.com/music (320kbps mp3's)

I have a pretty extensive Video Game music soundtrack.

I do really enjoy reorchestrations, particularly those involving a full orchestra.

However, No NES for the Wicked by Vomitron is particularly awesome.  If you are a fan of 8-Bit classics, you really should get this album.  And it's possible to buy directly from the Artist himself.

HIs rendition of Blaster Master sold it for me, I've never heard that one redone before.

Is there a proper genre name for that hard/fast paced electronic/trance style that's present in most bemani (Beatmania, DJMax, Jubeat, Reflec Beat, etc.) games? And while I'm at it, could anyone give me any recommendations for artists who have this style?
This playlist is an example of what I'm looking for I guess: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbVd2abwRFY&list=PL0wgqqz2w109KP8_pFqfX1piTItNSl6Ng

not really, its maybe speedcore? but its just kind of regular electronic. The problem with sub genre's of electronic is that it's really dictated by the composer rather than an actual thing.
