Would be a more obvious clue if the teaser showed two SD cards instead of two microSD cards.

My money's on the X5iii being the recipient of 2 x SD slots, at this point in time.

It could be a monster seller for Fiio, and at a mass-market price-point.

They could literally take the market by storm, and they know it  (as long as they've improved the firmware to handle a much larger song library, without choking & glitching)

If my guess is correct, then X5iii might bring in the needed revenue, and the engineering accomplishment, to make Fiio see the T3 as a viable project to bring to market.

Personally, I demand 2 Petabytes of storage data, and anything less will be an unsatisfactory state of affairs, in the DAP market

Whatever Fiio are bringing to market, it's nice to see a DAP maker FINALLY explicitly acknowledging that storage capacity is important to DAP users, even though it remains to be seen quite how seriously they have addressed the issue.

Maybe the red 4 in that teaser image could be a clue that they've used bridge chips to yield 4 x microSD...

Surely not... would be a cool feature, but would use more battery power

Hmmm.....

I don't want to imagine managing 4 mSD cards

Barely could had done it with 2.

A well designed music library database should take take of it. Basically just drop files anywhere on each card and the player should automatically sort things out.

Sadly, that is still a dream for DAPs in general
