When I was researching iems, I read a review of the Grado GR8s that mentioned that someone dragged theirs across a gravel lot without much external damage and no effect on the sound. I ended up buying a pair, not for this reason, though it was good to know they are sturdy iems.

Well, they're sturdier even than that. I may not walk on them, but I did leave them in a shirt pocket and they've survived a wash and dry cycle with no perceptible damage.

So what have you done on purpose or not to your iems and how did they come out?

The JVC FX500, FX700, HJE900, Sony EX series IEMs and IE8 are well built and they last longer(use daily bases) than most IEMs.

I stepped on my GR07 and I swear my foot was in a lot more pain.

And yes, it is still working perfectly.

I carry my GR07 on my iPhone in my pocket all the time and they have had zero issues. On the flip side my SM3 were broken within less than a week of owning them.

I also had good luck with my Monster Turbine X IEM's, and even better luck with my IE8. But I would say the GR07 ranks up there a tough IEM.

I'd like to know what people have done to HJE900 (cubic zirconium).
