I recently bought Grado RS-1i and I'm looking to upgrade my amp . Right now it's Grace m9xx and  my home cans include RS-1i, E-MU teak, K701 and  Ultrasone PRO 900.  The genres of music I listen to are: jazz, blues, vocal, classic rock, country. Is the MAD Ear+HD the best amp for RS-1i for under 1000$? Graham Slee Ultralinear Diamond Edition? What about Little Dot 1+, Asgard 2 and Lyr 2?  Any suggestions?

The Mad Ear is a great pairing with Grado headphones.

It can be pretty tough to find one used, but they do show up here every now and then in the B/S/T forum

  Thank.
What about Mad Ear vs LD 1+(with upraded tubes and opamp)? And whether it's worth upgrading from m9xx in sub-1000$ price range?

LD 1+ is a nice amp for Grados....not a true tube amp, it is a hybrid, but you still get some tubey sound from it

The Mad Ear is much better IMHO though and very worthy since you are talking the RS1i in this case.

Woo WA6 is suppose to be good also....though i have never heard one...but I have owned the Mad Ear.
