I've thought about doing a Qualtrics survey on the best headphones. I'd set up a survey, we'd rank the various components, and then in the end we would have a nice list of the best headphones and why. Somebody just needs to pay the Qualtrics fees.

The first question would be though, how do we break down headphone components?

Off the top of my head: Bass, treble, mids, soundstage, timbre, wow factor, comfort, build quaility.

It could be simple 1-5 rankings of each component. Then I could run easy stats on it. Qualtrics would even do it for me. We could have a definitive list of the best headphones and why. Other components could be tested as well, but there would be different factors.

If head-fi sponsors this, I could do it.

Step 1: Get a list of all headphones
Step 2: Decide upon the factors of sound
Step 3: Setup the survey
Step 4: Pay for the survey
Step 5: Administer the survey to everybody on head-fi
Step 6: Analyze the results
Step 7: Publish the results

It could easily be done. I'll set the survey up and analyze the results.
