Hello everyone!

I'm still searching for a can to use as complement to my 650, and now i'm thinking about DENON D2000, I like the soundsignature of 650 but I want something more fun, grooving, not as relaxed as 650, I guess I will use them most with metal like, At the gates, In flames, Pantera, Judas priest, Dream Theater, Megadeath, Maiden so on.

I'm not so sure about Grado or Alessandro, the only Grado I have tested and liked are sr60, the others I have tested are shrill and thin sounding to my ears, I have tested rs1, sr80. What do you think about MS2?

I really liked the bass of dt990, but the highs was sibilant and the midrange recessed, I have read a LOT! about d2000 some days now and some say they are a little laid back and some says they are fast and fun, good for rock.

So what do you people that ownes d2000 think, should I put in an order for them!!??

oh no, you can't dislike your 990's! go back and try some more.

Maybe a different version 990 will solve the problem. Or try the 880....

I have been thinking about trying 880 600Ohms, maybe they are a lot smoother, but I want them to rock my world!

Hmm, thought Grado cans were a bit too shrill? I would go for the MS-Pro or MS-2 (depending on budget) -- you'll probably be quite pleased.

MS2 is on my mind, the thing that I am worried abouth though, is how much bass they have, I want more than the grado sr80 and rs1.

Since you liked the bass on the DT990, I would say to buy the Denon. The DT880 won't have enough bass for you.

i think I can compromise with the bass if mids and highs are great, how is the highs and mids on d2000 compared to 990 and 880 600? I didnt think 880 250 old model had so bad bass?

I think the DT880 has better mids and highs, but I still prefer both the DT990 and the D5000 to DT880/250's since I felt they didn't have enough bass. But the DT880/600's, with real leather pads, now THEY are the best of all worlds...

The 990s, not fun? Say it's not so!

I certainly think they are, but I guess not everyone does.

Just ordered d2000.

I don't have the guts to go for MS2 since I usually don't like Grado and don't really like small soundstage.
