The pot on the Cosmic...

Hmm... 1/4 turn... not good...

If I ever buy one of these amps I'd have to ask Todd or Danny to tweak the gear ratios before shipping it to me...

I've had a Max and a MOH. I now own a Cosmic. It is a great do all amp. I guess I don't have a golden ear to hear any channel imbalence. It really sounds good with a portable source. It sounds better with my Cambridge. Try it you might like it. I don't think I gave up much sending the MOH back...Nice POT .

Right now I'm asking if Jan can put a gain switch (aka gearbox

) in his Corda amp. He plans to do so anyway, I'm just asking when I can buy such a new amp from him.

So what do you expect from this POT??

LOL, Joe, you're earning yourself a new custom title- "Pothead."

But you might want to check out the cheap Alps Blue thread in the DIY forum- apparently, the $6 Blues are really $6 Alps stepped attenuators- with unearthly tracking and very matched channels. Also, if they can be converted to the standard 3-pin Alps Blue pinout, than it would be simple to replace the Blue in a Corda with one of these.

Such a conversion from the 4-pin mystery Alps to the more common 3-pin Alps blues is simple - just snip those 4th pins off. I just replaced the Alps blue in my DIY amp with one of the 4-pin pots and the pin layout is the same except for the extra 4th set.

Hmm, nice... but 21 steps seems a bit rough...
