Just if anybody happens to know: Aside from creating a new Tidal account, is a new PayPal address required as well?

I don't recall using a separate paypal account. I have two because I have USA and UK, but I don't think I had to do separate billing. It's been a long time, so my memory may not be right.

Yes I think it would be too late to change because of the engraving.  But it might be worth contacting them, you might be able to switch for a fee to pay for the new case, and they could swap it for you.

I personally skipped on the engraving and am interested in the new Ebony. They said they would see what they could do since there is no engraving at all as I just wanted the pure wood look.

On their Facebook page they now quote February 10th. They said they just finished assembling the 1st non-prototype Explorer. It has a Mark Twain quote:

"A gentleman is someone who knows how to play a bang and doesn't."

Between all the Instagram posts from CES, NAMM, and now the upcoming CanJam I'm beginning to feel like those of us who made this product a reality are taking a backseat to marketing... Yes I've said I remain hopeful, but now I'm just getting frustrated. Get the Explorers out to us instead of focusing on all these meet and greets!

I imagine the marketing and PR is a separate entity than production. So, my guess is that the construction and shipping is happening in China independent of what Sam and his crew are doing.
