The next headphone purchase that you never listened to will be...??

I want to check out the HD595 - hopefully before the end of this month

Since the standard greeting on these forums is "welcome - sorry about your wallet" and my wife will kill me for overspending - I want to get out before I get in too deep

hmm...well the fact that i just got two headphone amps and two new cans all within the past month is holding me back. besides, my next trip back to taipei is in october so it'll give me a little bit of time to recover from the spending i've been doing and maybe sell off some more less used cans.

I'd look into that by doing some searching at Head-Fi.

The popular belief is that the sound difference between the HD580 and the HD600 is almost imperceptible.

Well, it always comes down to personal taste...

To many people the HD600's fake marble look is very cheesy and its metal grills look like the ones on cheap speakers. (and they also get dented, unlike the HD580's grills)

Amazingly, even with living in NYC, I've chosen cans that I've just had no way of auditioning lol. The KSC-35, and the MS-1 and MS-2 Alessandros. And hello Beyerdynamic DT770/80 Ohms too - well maybe a music store would have had it, but at the time I couldn't wait to root it out. The crazy thing is, all these choices were spot on with the reviews they've gotten on Head-fi, and all of them are winners.

I can't imagine why that might be...
