My initial reaction is that the author went out of his way to stretch to that conclusion. We have numerous choices when it comes to sound systems. However, we do not have that flexibility when it comes to cell phone call reception quality.

When there isn't actual choice involved, it isn't really funny. Not that I'm scandalized or anything. I just agree that it was a stretch. It would have been funnier if it were a speaker enthusiast who then proceeded to listen to his iPod on iBuds.
