The New Enleum AMP-23R Amplifier (Successor to Bakoon AMP-13R) Thread

I think I figured it out (maybe!). I had set some EQ for my Headphones (via Roon) to bump up the bass EQ by a few db....I forgot to switch it off when playing through speakers. Not sure if that could have been the issue, but haven't had any issues since. I did switch the amp off a few times in the meantime!

Out of curiosity, have you asked the manufacturer whether any EQ could cause any issues?

My Enleum is having a volume control issue. There is sound when the volume is at zero. When I increase the volume up to 3 dots, there is no change in sound then there is a large jump in sound. Above 3 dots, the sound does increase but there is a small time lag. This didn't happen until now. Spoke to the dealer I purchased from. He contacted Enleum who said this is totally normal.

I have tried unplugging the power cord and changing gain on the amp but the issue still persists.

Anyone else have this issue or can give any advice?

I didn't realize this was happening until you mentioned it, but maybe because I have my volume setting around "9 o'clock" - 5 dots - high gain.

But, I would explain it slightly differently after testing it just now.
  • "When I increase the volume up to 3 dots, there is no change in sound then there is a large jump in sound."
For me, the volume starts gradually increasing from "3 dots" mark at low or high gain. There's no large jump in sound on my side.

I only noticed as I started changing headphones and kept bringing the volume down to zero
That makes sense. I've only had one headphone on it since I got it so it's just been at or around 9 o'clock.

Playing around with it, the volume changes when you hear the "clicks" which makes sense. The first click definitely doesn't happen until you are closer to the 3rd dot.

Same for me. In high gain there is low volume at 0 and no clicks or volume increase till 3 o'clock

either it's "totally normal" or we both got defective units. :p

It seems normal considering that Enleum is a power amp with variable gain. From the above I gather that the lowest gain setting (aka the lowest volume) doesn't mute the product, which is not that unusual. The question here is whether pressing the mute button on Enleum's remote control fully mutes it?

It fully mutes it for me after testing it just now.

I assumed that it would, but I imagine that a very low-level signal audible on speakers/cans (with vol. control knob at its lowes setting) won't be an issue mor most users.
