The New Enleum AMP-23R Amplifier (Successor to Bakoon AMP-13R) Thread

Yes i understand, but when you have big device you can see where was money spent, but now...

I hear you, but that can be really deceptive. Many compact products can sound wonderful and many big heavy ones perform nowhere near as good. Small amps that sound, look and feel awesome aren't easy to make :)

Seriously??

Maybe you could ask them to pack it and send it you in a bigger than usual carton box. That way they can meet you half way.

In the world of HiFi, it's not uncommon you see manufacturers try to over-engineering their products. Large and think cases with a lot of empty spaces inside the chassis. Those products may look like a more complex from the outside but does not necessarily sound good. On the other hand, I quite appreciate the effort in designing simple and efficient circuit that can produce high quality sound.

Exactly, small stuff based on a manufacturer's proprietary tech that gets away with bare minimum of parts is often very interesting. But then again, it's on a user's shoulders to notice and appreciate the value in that.

I wouldn't say many. The 13R/23R is decidedly impressive from an engineering point.

Is iFi going to add a new Air version of the Zen Stream?

No plans for that at this time, but we never say never.

I wouldn't say many.

Not many in comparison to big heavy stuff out there, but if one digs really deep and away from mainstream there's actually quite the choice of small superb amps with proprietary tech inside

Yup, a very unique design, this one.

The Enleum 23R replaced a comparably priced Luxman P700u in my system. The P700u was about 4 times the size and 3 times the weight of the 23R. The power output of both amps are about the same. The sound quality of 23R plays on a much higher level than P700u imo. The 23R provides better bass, and it sounds more powerful driving the Susvara. I felt that the 700u was just ok but not exceptional with the Susvara. The 23R sounds fuller bodied, more dimensional and higher resolution than the P700u. The 23R comes with a remote control and the fact that it can drive high efficiency speakers extremely well makes it a great value compared to larger and heavier amps.
