I don't think most of you get his question (or saw the title and didn't read beyond)

He specifically asked which gear/HPs brings out the most emotions within your music..

Not what makes you want to slit your wrist or what 'emo' kids might wear.

Anyway, for me it's my er4s'
Soon it shall be Stax

that does sound the best so far...and to think I was gonna put some really cool "emo" looking art on mine...lol

That's right. You saw what i asked.

What portrays the most emotion in your music?! From female voices to stringed instruments... Go ahead and state any headphone/amp /DAC combination you want, but keep in mind most people are on budgets here and can't afford an HE90/HEV90 and $5,000 CD players.

Sennheiser HD595, Sennheiser HD650: depending on the mood of the day.

On the cheap, Sennheiser HD485.

I can't comment right now,
My vision is blurred with tears.
The isolation that you seek,
Is my bitter reality.
Mom and Dad want me to cut the grass,
I just want to cut myself.
Did I mention that I was crying?

Only if you're talking budget, which is what you requested.

Seriously... To date, my Grado SR-80 and Darkvoice 336i provide the best emotion/value match up.

Your mileage may vary.
