As I said before I bought Sennheiser HD202 for isolating, not audiophile reasons. I was surprised that the sound was so acceptable for the price.
The worst thing with them is much too big bloated bass. Here came my flash of genius in. I used the equaliser of my minidisc to decrease the bass. The result was astonishing. The sound became real, real good. I would call it a metamorphosis. You could compare them to headphones for $100, and with exceptional good isolating quality, not to be canal phones.
In more expensive headphones it feels wrong to use the equaliser, but not with those cheap phones, bought most for isolating reasons.
I decreased the bass rather much at 100HZ and 250 Hz with my minidisc. If you have a pair of HD202 at home I suggest that you try the equalising trick, as an experiment. You will be surprised.
