I am sorry for asking it here but is there anybody who effort to answer this big question?
I am famous by my surfing capabilities but now I couldn't find usable information.
 
Also, if you don't mind, what is the use of having a linear tracking mechanism instead of a normal? How is it works anyway?

Sorry, found this thread minutes ago. Whenever looking for some exotic vintage gear, just punch

On thevintageknob one can find better/top gear that officially was never exported out of Japan - and examples known to exist in the broadly speaking West are far in between. 
 
Sorry #2, not familiar with Pioneer linear trackers ( 1000 also sold under Phase Linear ). But basically, should be of very high quality.
 
If you are considering purchase of any vintage DD, make shure to check and if necessary, out of prevention replace all electrolityc capacitors. Some ICs are now unobtainium and if they fail, you heve guessed it, it is the end of the road. Only avaliable through canibalizing another unit of the same type. ICs by themselves fail very rarely, but are likely to be forced beyond their intended capabilities if capacitors did appreciably change their values or effectively dissapeared altogether > failure of ICs. As I said, not familiar with Pioneers and if they are known for this IC problem, just saying what is the most you can do to prevent it from happening.

It's the difference between a mass market turntable and a high end one.
They share the same principals in motor design and parallel tracking arm
but the differences in the execution of these principals is night and day.
Think: more than double mass in chassis and platter,better regulated movement,arm taken to extremes etc etc.
In operation the PL-L1000 is more automated whereas the PL-L1 is semi automatic...
A properly designed tangential arm tracks the record the way it was cut - cutting arms move tangentially-
so it is supposed to have zero tracking error and superior sound.
