Just saw this thread. Congrats on a phenomenal amp krmathis. I was lucky enough to aquire Fallen Angel's B22. It looks very similar to yours. What a phenomenal sounding amp! Have you tried it w/ balanced hd800's?

Wow... that's an amazing piece of work ! really nice initiative.
But how the heck did you end up with >29 000 posts !!!! that's unbelievable !

I'm pretty sure I'll take the plounge and make one myself... no particular experience but a well working brain should help me go through this !

The right side of his case has a 4 pin balanced connector, which is connected to each of the 4 wires on his AKG - that is balanced as I see it.

As I also understand it, true balanced connection is a differential current in 2 of 3 wires, with the third being ground. "Balanced" Headphone connections are only 2 connectors to each side of the headphone, instead of a common ground between them. There is not differential circuitry in the headphone to handle a true differential balanced connection.

4 pin XLR > 2 3 PIN XLR.
