The JVC HA-S680 - S400's and S500's big brother is here!

I just put my order in for a white pair!

I ordered through whiterabbitexpress, and total cost was $47.99 USD.

Over the summer I am intending to get a proper DAC + Amp, preferably something dead neutral or towards the bright side so as to complement my E07K. Would the O2 + ODAC and/or the Modi + Magni pair well with the HA-S680?

Scrolling through the reviews, it seems these are suitable for portable use. Would these cans be good unamped from iPhone 5?

Really looking forward to getting them!

If Whiterabbit quotes $47.99, doesn't that exclude the shipping from Whiterabbit to US?  How much is the total cost shipped to US?

ahh perhaps I should have explained that I'm from singapore, so perhaps the shipping fee is much cheaper!

Look forward to comparison and ranking of S680, Havi B3, Piston 2.1, and KC06 (if you get them).

They don't isolate that great due to the dynamic ports.
For mass transport, you'll be better off with IEMs - Havi B3 Pro MK1 is great and isolates fairly well (with Sennheiser tips).

I'd go with what BenF said. If you want good isolation you're better off using some IEMs. However I use the S680 on my walk to work everyday by the main roads and although I do hear some hum at times I just adjust the volume to suit.

So they do isolate but for constant noise you're better off with IEMs.

Baked on a rare HTC One in Vivid Blue!

regarding isolation, when ive got them on walking round city centre i cant hear nothing although i do have it LOUD, ive also been told that when im back in the office that at same volume they cant really hear them until i take them off. I think im also a closet basshead and not really realised it

Just received these headphones in the mail. Ordered from Japan Premium on Amazon and paid $70 which included $17 expedited shipping since I need them ASAP because I am going to Israel in May. It took 8 days to get here - not to bad.

I expected them to sound like sh** out of the box, but I have started the burn in process. I hope to burn them in for ~72 hours.

Hi, how do these compare to the HA S500's in terms of bass quantity and quality? Is it worth it to upgrade?
