A comparison of the V5 againt Hugo will be interesting, although perhaps not totally fair since the V5 comes in at less then half the price (and almost half the size as well).
The technology, both in the DAC and the amp sections, are also vastly different between the units so I even if I expect both of them to sound excellent, I don't expect them to sound the same...
Just looked at the specs for both the V5 and Hugo. It's a little bit difficult to do a direct comparion (since they are not presented equally) but even if it says that the V5 output state has been redesigned to drive "even the most difficult headphones", the V5 provides and output power of 80mW @ 32 ohms while the Hugo delivers 600mW so the Hugo should be a better match with "difficult headphones" (well, at least in theory

We will first start sales of the V5, once we have enough units from production we will announce a V3 upgrade plan, but not before as we do not have enough boards to start with.
Sales will start with a limited batch of 50 units.
As for sales start we have a couple of weeks delay as we rejected the housing parts

The quality was not good enough.

Hoping this arrives shortly. Can't wait to replace my CORDA 3MOVE with this little box of tricks. To run with GRADO PS500e which should sound sweet...

I'm sure it will be spectacular combo. The PS500 is my favorite of the Grado line up.
