The Holy Grail of True Sound Stage (Cross-Feed: The Next-Generation)
Feb 18, 2010 at 5:05 PM Post #76 of 80
Just wanted to mention that the first day I got my Stax, I plugged them in and thought that the sound was awful, that I had made a huge mistake trading my HF-1 for them. Then I remembered that I still had these settings enabled, and I disabled them. Then all was well. So I think that this virtual crossfeed does not play nice with electrostatics.

There is a free app for Android called

Noozxoide EIZO-rewire™ PRO

that has a surround sound effect. There are several different levels of soundstage widening, and I have found it enjoyable unlike many other digital signal processing effects (or should I say defects). Of course the fact that it is free means that you can try it out and see if you like it or not. I like the way it lifts the sound out of my head and gives much more air and space to the music when listening on my new Nexus 10 tablet.

Here it is on Google Play:

Here is a completely different approach to crossfeed (that is about as different as it gets!): http://www.head-fi.org/t/648182/two-headphones-at-once-have-i-finally-gone-over-the-edge

Read to the sixth post to find out more about the way it sounds like a crossfeed.
