hey @purk how did you get the top cover off? My Max is popping on a couple clicks of the attenuator and I can't seem to get the front panel and top cover completely off to get to it.Sorry....I totally forgot about this but here we go! Pics of Headroom Max Balanced.
Sorry brother but I don’t have the Max Balanced anymore so not sure if I can really help now.hey @purk how did you get the top cover off? My Max is popping on a couple clicks of the attenuator and I can't seem to get the front panel and top cover completely off to get to it.
Did you figure it out? You will have to loosen the screws on the front and the back (all on the front and top row on the back). Don’t forget to remove the washer/nut that lock the volume control in place on the front faceplate. I was able to score a great deal on another Max Balanced (thanks to my friend Mike!) and this time with an RK50 to boot. Sadly this unit does not have the built in DAC. See the internal for your viewing pleasure! What a fabulous sounding amp!hey @purk how did you get the top cover off? It’s an upgraded option back in the day for around $1050. The RK50 worths every penny! Such a smooth attenuator!Amazing to see that unit has an RK50 in it. Is it a factory option back then or the owner have it retrofitted?
