hey @purk how did you get the top cover off? My Max is popping on a couple clicks of the attenuator and I can't seem to get the front panel and top cover completely off to get to it.

Sorry brother but I don’t have the Max Balanced anymore so not sure if I can really help now.

I can help if you have the Balanced Home with Max Modules.

Did you figure it out? You will have to loosen the screws on the front and the back (all on the front and top row on the back). Don’t forget to remove the washer/nut that lock the volume control in place on the front faceplate. I was able to score a great deal on another Max Balanced (thanks to my friend Mike!) and this time with an RK50 to boot. Sadly this unit does not have the built in DAC. See the internal for your viewing pleasure! What a fabulous sounding amp!

It’s an upgraded option back in the day for around $1050. The RK50 worths every penny! Such a smooth attenuator!
