Might still be

Problem I have with the Bryston is mostly academic but more importantly, its not described in a way that I want to head.  But until I actually hear my PWD2 I can't write it off.  HeadAmp gear tends to hold its value pretty well because of the build time and quality so its not too risky to try the GS-X v2.

If it ends up being a GS-1 with MOAR POWER!!! I don't think it would be too hard to sell.  And again for all I know, the GS-1 was simply showing the W4S DAC-2 for what it was while the Peak coloured the sound in a more pleasant light.  I know I ended up preferring the Octave to the DAC-2 so who knows PWD2+GS-X2 might just be a match made in heaven.  Also have a Dynahi coming but that won't be completed until late winter, early spring... I hope :D

And here I thouht I was done rolling amps /sigh

Was the GS-1 to transparent for your tastes - are you looking for a little color?

hah...we'll see.  I was mostly just looking for some enhancements to the current one, and i'm not really getting any entries like that.

This is the only one I would consider...

But I prefer the current logo.  Messing with a brand's symbol is tricky.  Lots of the entries would make the brand look like a toy.

Looking over my notes if anything I felt it was not transparent enough.  My notes say that it was compressed some and lacking of texture and resolution.  Which is interesting because way back when I got the HeadAmp Lite it was head and shoulders above the rest.  Which later became a HeadAmp Reference until it was sold when I went over to the Stax Mafia.  I expected the GS-1 to wipe the floor with the others on resolution but meh /shrug
