Back in the 1930s, jazz clarinetist Benny Goodman was a pioneer of swing music. He did a cross country tour and played in places like in Colorado and other rural areas. But the people did not like his jazz music and wanted to hear the traditional waltz music instead. It was reported that some people even threw bottles at him.

But when Benny played in Los Angeles and New York, people loved his swing music and he became known as the king of swing!

So yes, his haters are forgotten.
